SENIOR MENTORSHIP PROGRAM
The Fordham SWS mentor program is designed to connect incoming Associates with SWS seniors who have completed the seminar series, relevant internship experience and Fordham coursework. They can provide tips about how to network, seek internships, choose a career path, write your resume, and complete your investment project.
2023 Senior Mentors
Anoosha Barua is one of the current SWS CDOs and a senior in the Gabelli School of Business at the Lincoln Center Campus majoring in Global Business with a concentration in Global Finance & Economics. She was initiated as an SWS Associate in her first semester at Fordham and furthered her SWS involvement on the Research Team, and finally, the E-Board. She also serves as the President of Girlboss: Undergraduate Women in Business at the Lincoln Center campus. Anoosha recently interned at Nomura as an Investment Banking Summer Analyst in their Greentech coverage group where she will be returning full-time after graduation. In the past she interned at One Rock Capital partners as a Private Equity ESG Intern from March 2022 - May 2023 and at American Portfolios as a Finance Intern in Summer 2020 and Summer 2021. Outside of SWS, she loves scuba diving, skiing, traveling, trying new restaurants, and Taylor Swift.
Bianca Sendra is a senior at Fordham University's Gabelli School of Business pursuing a major in finance with an interest in corporate and investment banking. Some of the courses she is currently taking include Fixed Income Securities and ESG in Finance. She is currently on track to graduate in December of 2023. She has professional experience as a credit management intern at TD Securities, specifically under the DIG and Healthcare industry groups. She also has professional experience as a PAC intern under the VP of Public Affairs and Communications for Liberty Coca-Cola, which has elevated her networking and collaborative skills. She is also a member of several women in finance scholars and research organizations, such as Smart Woman Securities and SEO.
Bridget McCarthy is a senior majoring in Finance with a concentration in Alternative Investments and a minor in Business Law and Ethics. This past summer, she held an internship with Lord Abbett & Co., Asset Managers as an Advisor Consultant Intern, and received a return offer for a full-time position. The previous summer, she held an internship at Palmetto Financial Group as a Wealth Management Intern, which spanned into December of her junior year. She is very active on campus, along with SWS, she is a FAM (Freshman Advising Mentor), and a member of Rose Hill Society, Alpha Sigma Nu, Boyle Society, Jesuit Network, PAWS, and is a peer tutor. She was also a founding member of The Women's Network on campus and served as VP of Finance until Spring 2023.
Caroline Freeburn is a senior studying Applied Accounting and Finance. Last spring, she interned with Thomson Reuters. This upcoming summer, she will be interning at EY in their assurance practice.
Charlese Profeta is a senior and has had three internships, one abroad in London at Taj Accountants the summer before junior year, another at Warburg Pincus as a Tax Intern throughout junior year, and this past summer at Merrill Lynch. She will be returning to Merrill Lynch full time after graduation.
Colleen Farrell is a senior majoring in Accounting Information Systems and is an incoming graduate student at Fordham (Spring 2024). She is involved on campus as the President of Beta Alpha Psi, an Associate of Smart Woman Securities, a member of Fordham University's Women Club Soccer, a Ground Floor Teaching Assistant, a Freshman Advising Coordinator and Mentor, and a member of Boyle Society. She is also on Dean's List, was a semifinalist in the Consulting Cup, and a Summer Study Abroad student. This past summer, she interned as an Assurance Intern at PwC.
Hanna Finzel is a senior majoring in Finance with a secondary concentration in Process and Quality Analytics. She has been a part of SWS since her first semester freshman year. This past summer, she interned at Macy's in NYC as a Merchandise Planning and Allocation Intern. In this role, she was responsible for generating weekly reports, attending team meetings and speaker series events, and working on an intern project focused on providing a business idea for Macy's.
Isabella Camaj is a senior from New York, New York pursuing a B.S. in Finance with a concentration in Fintech. Isabella became an associate during the fall of her sophomore year and spent two semesters on the Research Team covering Real Estate and Industrials. She is currently a senior analyst on the SWS Research Team and a member of the Student Managed Investment Fund. In past years, Isabella interned at Kroll Bond Rating Agency within credit research, NBCUniversal within ad sales, and most recently J.P. Morgan within equity research. Isabella will be returning to J.P. Morgan following graduation. Isabella's interests include baking, traveling, photography, and snorkeling.
Jenna Fazzone is a senior studying Business Administration with a concentration in Consulting and two secondary concentrations in Strategy and Business of Healthcare. Two summers ago, she worked at Capital One as a Business Analyst Intern and this past summer, she worked at Goldman Sachs as an intern in their Financial Wellness division which deals with financial management for clients of median income. In her free time, she enjoys exercising, painting, and playing her guitar.
Julia Quinn is one of the current SWS CDOs and a senior in the Gabelli School of Business majoring in Finance with a concentration in Credit. She was initiated as an SWS Associate in her first semester at Fordham and joined the Research Team sophomore year where she covered the Industrial and Consumer Discretionary sectors. She furthered her SWS involvement by becoming a Senior Analyst in the fall of junior year, and finally, a member of the E-Board. Julia interned as a Sales & Trading analyst at Citi this past summer and will be returning full-time upon graduation. Julia is also the President of Fordham's Gaelic Society, and enjoys going to the beach in her free time.
Juliette Occhino is the current SWS CEO and majoring in Quantitative and Monetary Economics at Fordham's GSAS. She is enrolled in the Accelerated Masters program and completed her B.A. in Mathematics-Economics a year early in Spring 2023. During her first semester at Fordham, she joined SWS as an associate. She also did Research Team her freshman spring and sophomore fall, covering Consumer Discretionary and Materials. Juliette has interned at Citi in Sales & Trading for two summers, the first being part of the Sophomore Leadership program. Next summer, she will be returning as a full-time Sales & Trading Analyst. Aside from SWS and Finance, she loves volunteering (PAV), stand-up comedy, reading, and eating out with friends and family.
Kalandra Marinopolous (’24) is the current co-CIO of SWS. She is majoring in Finance in the Gabelli School of Business at Rose Hill. She joined SWS the fall of her freshman year and joined the Research Team her sophomore year. Kalandra has interned since the summer before freshman year working at a private credit hedge fund for two summers. This summer she interned at Barclays in Investment Banking and will be returning after graduation. Kalandra is also a FAM, a TA and part of Rose Hill Society.
Katie Kornutik (’24) is a senior in the Gabelli School of Business majoring in Finance. She has been a contributing member to SWS since the fall of her freshman year. Her professional
experience includes a summer analyst role at Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management, as well as an internship with Ankura Consulting where she worked in their Forensic Accounting department. Katie spent the spring semester of her junior year studying abroad at Fordham’s London campus. After receiving her undergraduate degree, Katie plans on pursuing a career in accounting.
Kyra Pavilonis (’24) is a senior at Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business majoring in Finance with a concentration in Alternative Investments and a minor in Economics. Last summer she interned in Wealth Management at HSBC and will be returning following her graduation.
Leah Veneziano (’24) is a senior majoring in finance. She has been a member of SWS since freshmen year and a part of the Research Team since sophomore year. She is also a campus tour guide for Rose Hill Society, a Freshmen Advising Mentor, and on the E-Board of Global Markets Society. This past summer she interned at Mizuho in Investment Banking within the Power and Utilities Coverage Group and Investment Grade Debt Capital Markets and will be returning full-time next July.
Margaret Sakar (’24) is a senior pursuing a BS in Applied Accounting and Finance and an MS in Professional Accounting. After graduating from Fordham Undergrad, she will be continuing her Masters Degree through Fordham’s 4+1 program while studying to take the CPA exam. She will be interning at Ernst & Young next summer within their assurance practice. Outside of SWS, she is also involved with the Ignite Scholar’s program and works as a Commuter Assistant with Commuter Student Services.
Morgan Morrissey (’24) is the current CMO and a senior in the Gabelli School of Business majoring in Finance with a concentration in Credit and Alternative Investments. She was initiated as an SWS Associate the fall of her sophomore year and spent the following two semesters on the Research Team covering the Materials and Consumer Staples sectors. During her sophomore summer, she interned in Wealth Management at Morgan Stanley. This past summer she interned at J.P. Morgan as a Markets Research Analyst on the Credit Research Team. She will be returning full-time as a Credit Research Analyst next summer after graduation. Outside of SWS she is a member of Women in AI in the Alternative Investments Club. In her free time, she enjoys reading, coffee, and going to the city.
Rachel Brown (’24) is a senior at studying Finance with a concentration in Alternative Investments. She has been a part of SWS since her freshman year, and is also a part of GSB Dean’s Council, Finance Scholars, and AIC. She’s had three internships so far during her time at Fordham at Barnum Financial, Goldman Sachs, and J.P. Morgan. Outside of school, her hobbies include intramural sports, sketching, making playlists, and she is currently trying to learn tennis and piano! After graduation, she’ll be working in Private Banking at JPM. If you are interested in Investment Management (Wealth, Asset, etc.), or want to learn more about the industry/career options, feel free to reach out! She is always down to grab coffee and talk about anything – interviews, internships, career guidance, etc. She is an open book!
Rishika Pal (’24) is a senior originally from Richmond, VA studying Finance and Computer Science. She is involved on campus, most notably through her involvements in FAM, Smart Woman Securities, Global Markets Society, and the Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF). In the past, Rishika has interned at Brookfield Asset Management and Argo Partners. This summer, Rishika interned as a Global Markets Summer Analyst for Citigroup and will be returning post-graduation. Outside of her involvements, Rishika loves traveling, yoga, and exploring NYC with her friends!
Sophia Viti (’24) is a senior in the Gabelli School of Business studying Applied Accounting and Finance. She has been a member of SWS since Freshman year and has also been a member of the Research Team since sophomore year. This past summer, she interned at PwC in their Consulting practice.
